Kötschach-Mauthen offers you a small but fine ski area with its own ski school. Directly in the village there are 1 double chair lift, 2 drag lifts and a baby lift at your disposal. If you are not yet a skier or snowboarder, you can also learn this in the ski school. So if you are looking for peace and harmony in winter sports, you have come to the right place.

One of the largest ski areas south of the Alps, the Nassfeld, is located directly on the Austrian-Italian border, approx. 25 minutes drive from Kötschach-Mauthen. 30 modern cable cars and lifts open up 110 km of snow-sure slopes of all levels of difficulty. The highlight of your skiing holiday at Nassfeld: the Millennium Express. The longest cable car in the Alps takes 17 minutes to cover the more than 6,000 m long stretch from the Gailtal to the ski area. A free ski bus takes you several times a day from Kötschach-Mauthen to the “Millennium Express” which takes you directly to the Sonnenalpe Naßfeld.
